Bill Corbin started Corbin Sciences in 2014, the year he famously told a news reporter, "I bet the farm on hemp." Bill and his family have been farming in
Springfield, TN. for generations. As many farmers have, Bill has shifted his focus to sustainable, organic large scale crop production from traditional tobacco farming. He raises cattle and also grows other sustainable, organic crops such as indigo. Sherry, Bill's wife also helps run the family farm. Bill wouldn't know what to do with out her!
Unlike many farmers in Tennessee, Bill had a vision and was willing to take the high risk road. From the beginning he knew what hemp could do for his farm, family and community. It was that vision along with organic sustainable agricultural practices that has propelled Corbin Sciences forward. Corbin Sciences is now the leading supplier for superior genetics, organic agronomic resources and high quality hemp products.
Bill Corbin has been an active member of the Hemp Industries Association (HIA) since 2015. He is a founding board member of the Tennessee Hemp Industries Association (TNHIA), on the board of directors for the Tennessee Growers Coalition (TGC), serves on the advisory committee for the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP), and has been partnering with High Plains Crop Production since 2015. In 2019, he launched his brand Billy Hemp to provide consumers with high quality hemp pre-rolls, smokable and ingestible high CBD hemp products. He and his family have hosted many fundraisers for the TNHIA, HIA and TGC at their farm in Springfield, TN. Bill has been honored for his hard work and history making hemp career by being featured in countless magazines, newspapers, online media outlets, PBS series and other television broadcasts. He is extremely passionate about engaging others to "Embrace the Science of Nature" and continues to share this philosophy at numerous speaking engagements throughout the US. He has made several contributions to furthering hemp research efforts at Tennessee Universities. There is not a hemp farmer on this earth that has obtained such a vast knowledge of the cannabis plant by applying rigorous agronomic scientific methods while sharing this knowledge with others. Because of the economic development hemp offers, Bill is now known as a hometown hero.
