Since 2014 Bill Corbin has been hempin full steam ahead on his family owned farm in Springfield, TN. Unlike many farmers in Tennessee, Bill had a vision and was willing to take the high risk road. From the beginning he knew what hemp could do for his farm, family and community. It was that vision along with organic sustainable agricultural practices that has propelled Corbin Sciences forward. Corbin Sciences is now the leading supplier for superior genetics, organic agronomic resources and high quality hemp products.

Bill Corbin has been an active member of the HIA since 2015 and serves on the board of the TNHIA. He and his family have hosted many fundraisers for the HIA at their farm in Springfield, TN. Because of the economic development hemp offers, Bill is now known as a hometown hero.

engaging others to embrace the nature of science

Corbin Sciences has been an integral corner stone in engaging others to learn more about organic agronomic practices. This engagement has fostered the cannabis community in Tennessee and allowed others to flourish. Bill Corbin is passionate about sharing what hemp could do for the rural economy and has hosted many events engaging tobacco farmers, veterans and socially disadvantaged farmers. He has provided genetics that have catalyzed the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and Tennessee State University hemp programs.

In 2018 Corbin Sciences donated genetics to aid Tennessee University’s research efforts. Corbin Sciences also engaged others in a field day led by the extension program catering to the socially disadvantaged farming community.

Southern Hemp expo farm tour

Participants of the first Southern Hemp Expo were invited to join the TNHIA at the Corbin Sciences headquarters in Springfield, TN. Bill Corbin of Corbin Sciences led a discussion about their large scale organic hemp production.

Bill Corbin spoke and answered questions all day from people interested in growing, processing and manufacturing within the hemp industry. This is one of many events Bill Corbin of Corbin Sciences has sponsored and led on his family’s farm in Springfield, TN.

In April 2019 the PBS series, Volunteer Gardener featured Bill Corbin of Corbin Sciences. This episode exemplifies why Bill Corbin and Tennessee hemp will be forever synonymous.

Bill Corbin of Corbin Sciences participates in as many hemp educational seminars as possible and is always willing to answer questions. Watch this video filmed by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture in early 2019 to learn more about the program and about growing industrial hemp in Tennessee. “To help novice licensed industrial hemp growers prepare for the 2019 growing season, UT Extension of Dickson and Cheatham Counties partnered to host a hemp grower's meeting. The meeting is intended for informational purposes only. Presenters included Dr. Eric Walker (UT Hemp Specialist), Bill Corbin (hemp producer, Corbin Sciences), and Richard Dablaing (hemp producer, Buffalo River Hemp Company).”
